Summer activities enjoyed by Christ the King Catholic Church ary Society on August 6th. Christ The King Parish in Cedar City wishes to extend an invitation to travelers visiting visit-ing the southern part of the state. Mass is 5:30 P.M. every Saturday evening and 11:30 A.M. on Sunday morning during dur-ing the summer months, or Informalities In the Interest of Parowan City. Christ The Kins Catholic Church In Cedar City has had a very active summer, starting with First Communion on June 3rd. Joanne Wyborski, John Paris and Alfred Osborn were honored after Mass, along with their parents and coffee, punch and cake were served by members mem-bers of the Altar and Rosary Society. A First Communion Prayer Book and Rosary was presented to each child. June 10th was the first of two annual Parish picnics, held jointly with the Parishioners from St. George, at Veyo Hot Springs. Everyone enjoyed the resort area which has swimming swim-ming and volleyball available for those who needed to exercise exer-cise after the huge potluck meal. Plans were made for the fall catechism classes while Sister Rosalie was In Cedar City. She spent a week with the Parishioners Parish-ioners In St. George and a week In Cedar, giving instructions and techniques of teaching to the teachers, as well as holding classes during the day for the students. The ladies of the Altar and Rosary Society have sponsored two baked food sales each month during the summer, providing a variety of goodies and free coffee for the tourists, as well as creating a social gathering for the Parish members mem-bers after Mass. The proceeds from the sales will be used for projects throughout the year. The second potluck Parish picnic, with the Parishioners from St. George is scheduled for August 19th at Vermillion Cliffs picnic area In Parowan canyon. ' The summer In Cedar City has been pleasant and active. A discussion of the summer events and tentative plans for the fall were discussed at a meeting, and salad supper, by the ladies of the Altar and Ros- |
