Show ' Football league organized for Parowan youth A meeting was held Wednesday, Wednes-day, August 8, to organize a little league football team for Parowan. Mr. and Mrs. Kendall Klesel of Cedar City were there to explain the program and show films of little league football In Salt Lake City. They reported that this program has been very successful where ever it has been tried. Mrs. Klesel gave a mothers view of football and says very few Injuries have resulted from the games in little league. The uniforms have already been purchased and each boy that joins is asked to pay $15.00 and furnish his own shoes and mouth piece. The first pract'ee was held Friday evening and will continue con-tinue every day for the first two weeks and then 3 times a week. Registration is still open and boys from 6th to 8th grade are eligible. The boys will be taught many of the same plays the High School is using and this will benefit the boys when they are old enough to play High School football. There are four teams in Cedar City with whom Parowan will compete. Games will be held Saturday mornings. This season will end in the middle of October. ' Chuck Harris and Rodney Bentley will be the coaches for the Parowan team. Anyone who Is Interested in knowing more about the program or wishes to register may call them. There will also be cheerleaders cheerlead-ers for the teams and any girls of any age interested in being cheerleaders contact Hettie Ann Bentley. |
