Show PARAGONAH NEWS spread (li'structioii on the south and east parts of the town. Lawns and gardens were covered with red silt and at least three homes had basements flooded. The Sam Cutler home even had the basement windows swept out. The culinary water lines at the mouth of the canyon were broken and required mending. One flash of lightning struck the Carmen E. Topham home leaving a hole in the cornice and knocking out both the telephone Carolyn of Beaver visited here on Tues. with Mr. and Mrs. John R. Lister. Chester Robinson loft for Orem on Fri. to visit family members and bring his wife home again. Bishop and Mrs. Myron Abbott and son Richard traveled to Salt Lake City and Ogden on Sat. to take David Butterfield home and service and the electric power. The young ladies MIA soft-ball soft-ball games are in full swing at present and Paragonah has an active team participating. Fri. evenings game played in Enoch saw Enoch slide by the Paragonah Plants with a score of 18 to 15. It was a good game considering it went a little overtime and was played in the rain. Mrs. Marie Jones and three boys of Fredonia were Sun. visitors here with the Blaine Jones family. Cindy and Teresa Topham of Salt Lake City have been here for a couple of weeks to visit with grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth G. Topham. Their mother and two brothers arrived on Titfs. of last week to join them and the father, Joe, arrived on Thurs. for a long week-end visit. Mrs. Alva Gale and daughter to get their daughter Dana. They k also visited with the Lee Abbott family. Mr. and Mrs. II, N. Harris of Salt Lake City arrived here later Fri. for an overnight visit with Nona's mother, Mrs. Hannah Robinson and they also visited in Parowan with Mrs. Hattie Harris and members of her family. Mr. Jim Debus and sons Jeff and Joel spent last week here at the Debus vacation home. They enjoyed some fine fishing at Miners ville Reservoir. Mr. and Mrs. Larry Robb and their children of Henderson, Nev. visited here for several days with Larry's mother, Mrs. Nina Robb. Mrs. Sue Edwards and son Douglas of Salt Lake City visited here with Mrs. Melva Barton from Wed. to Mon. Mr. and Mrs. Victor Shah, daughter Vicki and granddaughter grand-daughter Reva Cook of Las Vegas arrived here last week to visit Winnie's brothers. They went to Manti for the Pageant and to Kearns to see the Ray Lamoreaux. and are guests at the Kay Lamoreaux home. Mr. and Mrs. Clark Lamoreaux traveled to Las Vegas on Fri. to take son Brad that far on his way back to army duty at Fort Hood, Texas. He had been on leave for two weeks. Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Limb, daughter Lorraine and her little girl, all of Beaver were Sun. visitors here with the James H. Andersons. Saturdays rainstorm in the Paragonah area brought on a flash flood that did a great deal of damage. Coming out of South Fork Canyon the flood moved large trees, heavy boulders and much trash and debris to leave the canyon road impassable, and |
