Show Josephine Smith celebrates 90th birthday PAROWAN - Mrs. Josephine B. Smith celebrated her 90th birthday bir-thday at her home Sat. July 13 with a family gathering and many friends and neighbors calling in to visit and wish her well. Mrs. Smith was born July 13, 1884 in Panguitch. She spent her childhood there, and was married to Delbert Smith June 17, 1908 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She then moved to Parowan with her husband and has lived there for 66 years. She has been an active member of the LDS Church working as work director in the Relief Society for 24 years. She also spent many years as an active member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers and is very proud of her pioneer heritage. Mrs. Smith has three daughters, Alice Pryer, Norma Burton and Delia Gurr. She has 16 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren. A very Happy Birthday to Mrs. Smith from all of us and best wishes for many more. Our neighbor has a joint checking arrangement with his wife. If he's not home by midnight, she starts checking the joints. |
