Show Frederick Athertqn honored at services Funeral services for Frederick Sefrin Atherton, 63, were held Oct. 16 in the Cedar Third Ward Chapel under the direction direc-tion of the Spilsbury and Graff Mortuary. Mr. Atherton died Oct. 13 at his residence of a heart attack. He is the son of John Wilson and Emaa Sefrin Atherton and was bom Oct. 9, 1910 in San Francisco, Calif. He married Berniece Booth July 12, 1932 in Santa Anna, Calif. He was a retired construction worker having worked in the southern California area until his retirement at which time he moved to Cedar City. Services were conducted by Bishop Melvin Parker. Family prayer was offered by Jack Sawyers. Invocation was by Alan Garfield. Speaker was Rulon D. Woodbury with remarks re-marks by Bishop Parker. Benediction Bene-diction was by Nolan Stokes and the dedication of the grave at the Cedar City cemetery was by Dr. Albert Nielsen. Musical selections included an accordian solo, "Green, Green Grass of Home" by Heber Lund; two selections by a vocal duet including George and Steven Grimshaw, including "Beyond the Sunset" and "In the Sweet Bye and Bye"; a marimba solo, "W h i spering Hope," by Cyndi Woodbury, accompanied ac-companied by Karen Morris and a vocal solo, "The Old Rugged Cross," By Christine Winter-rose, Winter-rose, accompanied by Cyndi Woodbury. Miss Woodbury also provided prelude and postlude music. |
