Show Drama Dept. begins season ticket sale Southern Utah State College Drama Club members will begin be-gin a community canvass this week for the sale of season tickets tic-kets for the campus-community drama gaason to be launched at SUSC Nov. 14 through 17 by the presentation of "Follies," the recent smash Broadway musical. "We are offering six plays for six dollars," said Fred C. Adams, chairman of the SUSC Drama-Commusications Department. Depart-ment. "That means that season sea-son ticket holders will be able to see each play for half the r:ular price." Other plays scsduled for the year are "The Skin of Our 'feet!.," Thornton Wiledr's reat American classic to be performed perform-ed in February; "The Thirteen Clocks," a heartwarming children's child-ren's theatre pr:duction on the calendar for April, and "Carnival," "Carni-val," a combined drama and musilal production to be presented pre-sented in May. Pr-f. Adams said that two studio productions will round 3ut the season in January and March. "Follies" will be produced jointly by the SUSC Drama and Music Departments and will feature a talented cast drawn from the community as well as the college. The SUSC production s the first non professional presentation presenta-tion of the musical, which within the past few years brought new life to Broadway with its stunning costuming and lavish sets depicting the era cf the fabulous Ziegfeld Fojlies. Prof. Adams describes the SUSC production of "Follies" as the most colorful and glamorous glamor-ous musical ever produced at the college. "We would love to have every adult in this area purchase a season ticket for these drama offerings," he said. "Far from losing iu luster, theatre is better bet-ter than ever." Pr:f. Adams said that student stu-dent rates are $1 per play and that SUSC students are admitted admit-ted free with I. D. cards. |
