Presentation was made by Melvln Parker, first counselor in the 14th Ward Bishopric. The recipient is a junior at Cedar High School. Currently he is president of the Explorer Explor-er Post at the 14th Ward and he will attend the National Explorer Conference to be held in Washington, D.C. this spring. The Duty to God Award is based on a combined scouting and LDS Church Aaronic Priesthood activity. Recipients must have been registered scouts for four years and must have earned Individual Priesthood awards during that period of time. Individual awards are based bas-ed on attendance at church meetings and participation in church activities. The Hermansen family moved mov-ed to Cedar City in June 1972. Prior to that time they lived at Thousand Oaks, Calif., where a major portion of the award was earned, according to Bishop Garth Leishman. |
