Show Consolidation of Ranger Districts Announced by Dixie Natl. Forest Forest Supervisor Alvln F. Wright, of the Dixie National Forest, today announced consolidation con-solidation ol four Ranger Districts Dis-tricts nnd relocation af one h e a dquarters office. The changes are being made after extensive study designed to determine organization changes chan-ges that would Increase efficiency, ef-ficiency, provide quality management, man-agement, Imiprove public service, ser-vice, and provide the most ed there for use of field crews. Supervisor Wright emphasized empha-sized that consolidation of iRanger Districts is In line with Forest Service Policy to Improve on the-ground management man-agement as budgets are being tightened. The offices are located where they will be accessible to the public and where they can provide the most service with existing personnel. economical operation of the Forest, Mr.Wright explained that these consolidations are one measure being taken by the Forest Service to lmiplement the National Economic Policy of reducing Federal employ-ment employ-ment and tightening budgets and at the same time trying to maintain quality management manage-ment of the environment with-in with-in the National Forests. There are presently two Dls-trist Dls-trist offices in Panguitch. The consolidation plan calls for combining f)ie Panguitch Lake District with the Cedar City District. Operation of the Panguitch Lake District will terminate effective March 9. The Panguitch District:, which dncludes National Forest system sys-tem lands east of the Sevier River, will continue to have their office in Panguitch. The Enterprise District will be combined with the St. George District as soon as persons presently assigned to Enterprise can be reassigned to new Jobs. Thedate of the consolidation will be announced announc-ed later. Although the Enterprise Enter-prise Office will be closed, a work center will be maintain- |
