Clair Morris, superintendent of the Iron County Coun-ty School District, sec ond from right, to be used for special education students in the district to attend the "Magic-Capades, "Magic-Capades, Loomis," to be held Tuesday, Apr. 3. Making the presentation are, left to right: Thorley Johnson, Keith Workman Work-man and right Richard Grainger. Jaycees sponsor "Magic - capades" the western half of the United States. On his current tour Loomis and his troupe will travel to over 200 towns and cities from the East Coast to the West Coast. "Magic-capades," the largest traveling magic show in the country is coming to Cedar City on Tuesday, April 3. The show is sponsored by the Cedar City Jaycees and will appear at the Cedar City High School Auditorium at 8 p.m. The show features Magician Illusionist Dennis Loomis who carries his magical extravaganza in a custom made 48 foot diesel semi-truck loaded to the top with the most baffling mysteries in the world. The show includes a company of five wonder workers and 17 animals. The "Circus Report," Aemrica's favorite circus weekly, had this to say about "Magic-Capades" : an exciting ex-citing and fun-packed action show best describes Magic-Capades, Magic-Capades, which features Loomis the magician. Without a doubt it is one of the better magic shows now touring the country. 2 Loomis is not new to Cedar City residents. He has previously appeared before audiences here under the sponsorship of the State Jaycees. One New York reporter claims Loomis to be a rare combintion of Houdini and Doug Henning. Loomis wears both hats, that of Master magician and Escape Artist in the 1978 version of "Magic-capades. In 1976 in Ann Arbor, Mich. Loomis escaped from a regular strait-jacket while hanging upside down by his knees from a trapeze bar, 150 feet in the air, suspended beneath a helicopter. One publication dealing with Loomis performance stated that he is " one of the best leviatationists I have seen in years. It most certainly ranks among the most outstanding floating ladies to be seen anywhere." The "Magic-Capades" troupe traveled over 60,000 miles, and performed in 17 states last year, primarily in |
