Show County issues complaint against developer The Iron County Commission voted on Tuesday to send a letter of complaint com-plaint to the state's Real Estate Department in the Department of Business Relations concerning the alleged practices of local 'and developer Floyd Rigby. Rigby was arrainged several weeks ago on second degree felony charges of forgery. The state can now proceed with its own investigation of some of Rigby's land deal practices which have been rumored to be questionable. Florence Wolfram of the Iron County Planning Commission agreed with the commission's com-mission's decision. She said that unorthodox land dealings have cost county residents hundreds of thousands of dollars in roads which they have had to pay for. The commission in their letter will bring to the state's attention individuals in-dividuals who have allegedly bought land from Rigby and been unable to build on the land for various reasons. Wolfram blamed a lack of interest on the part of past County Attorneys for much of the quesitonable land practices which have occurred in the county, "it is actually the resporf-sibility resporf-sibility of the County Attorney to see " that these things are done and this hasn't happened," Wolfram said. She praised the county's new subdivision ordinance which will hopefully insure proper land development in the county. |
