SUSC homecoming royalty sleeted in compeition Monday evening to reign over week-long activities, include, left to right: Cara Thorup, Miss Congeniality; Charlene Maxwell, First Attendant; Homecoming Queen Janet Goodrich; Stacia Eagar, Second Attendant and Nanette Forgie, Miss Congeniality. Janet Goodrich, SUSC Homecoming Queen Janet Goodrich, a freshman fresh-man coed from Othello, Washington, was crowned Homecoming Queen Monday evening at Southern Utah State College. She and her court will reign over SUSC homecoming activities throughout the week. The talented singer is majoring in business at SUSC. She is a member of Southern Utah Sounds Unlimited, the SUSC Program Bureau, which was also her sponsor in the, annual an-nual contest. She is the daughter of Jack and Ellen Goodrich, Othello, Washington, and is a 1978 graduate of Othello High School. The new queen was crowned by Janeal Stubbs, last year's homecoming queen and the riegning Miss Iron County. Charlene Maxwell, a freshman music major from Glendale, was named First Attenaant at the annual Queen's Pageant. The SUSC ' coed is the daughter of James F. and Marion Maxwell. Another freshman, Stacia Eagar, Cedar City, was selected by the five contrest judges as the Second Attendant. At-tendant. The SUSC family relations major is the daughter of Warren B. and Zelda E. Smith. Named Miss Congeniality by the 24 pageant contestants con-testants were two northern Utah coeds, Cara Thorup, a freshman from Riverton, and Nanette Forgie, a sophomore from Sandy. Thorup is the daughter of Richard M. and Joyce B. Thorup; Forgie the daughter of Glen E. and Inger Forgie. The theme for the annual beauty pageant was "Memories are Forever," planned to correlate with the "Forever" homecoming theme. |
