Show Y" ; FRANKLIN I). BENN Franklin Ben n, dies; services held Franklin Delano Benn, 44, died April 1, 1978 at the Valley View Medical Center, Cedar City. Born Dec. 3, 1933 in Cedar City to Archup and Winnifred Wall Benn. Married Jean Benson in the St. George Temple in April I of 1963. Retired section man for the Union Pacific Railroad. Bishop of the Cedar Indian Branch for 8 years. Committee member for the Cedar Band of Piutes. He is survived by his wife Jean of Cedar City, sons and daughters; Randy, Mrs. Herman (Althea) Pete, Mrs. Sherwin (Gladys) Tillahash, Terrel, Wendy, and Pernell all of Cedar City and Ivan of Billings, Montana. Also surving are four grandchildren grand-children a brother and two sisters. Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 4, 1978 at 10 a.m. at the LDS Indian Branch Chapel in Cedar City. The family prayer was offered by Jack Matheson with Ruth Urie playing the prelude, postlude music and Kent Baldwin giving the invocation. Musical selections selec-tions consisted of a Violin Solo by June Larsen, a vocal solo by Virginia Stevenson and a vocal duet by Kirk and Cleet Holmes. Speakers were Elihu Whatcott, Dale Slade and Ira Schoppmann with Giles Bolander giving the benediction and Scott Urie dedicating the grave. Interment was in the Cedar City Cemetery under the direction of the Spilsbury & Graff Mortuary. |
