Show Did you know That most of us do not fear failure as much as we dread getting blamed for it.. -Frank Clark j 50 Years ago j Discussion of a proposed $161,000 building program j was the principal order of business of the school board j meeting, held in the Tabernacle under the direction of I the Iron County Tax committee. Dr. M. J. Mac- i , Farlane, president of the school board, and Supt. N. J. Barlow presented information showing school needs of the county. Plans for building a high school at Parowan, a Junior High addition and a grade school at Cedar City; a rural school at New Castle within 5 years, to be paid for in seven years, was presented the meeting. 25 Years ago-Sometime ago-Sometime after the Cedar Theatre closed for the night, the building was entered and money from the cash box was stolen. Chief of Police Tony Lambert, who investigated the theft, reported that no clue as to the guilty party had been found. The money box was locked in a steel cabinet with a padlock. The cabinet had been opened but there was no evidence of the lock being pried or broken off. A reward of $50 and a season ticket to all showsjduring the season was offered to anyone with information leading to the arrest of the guilty person(s). 10 years ago i Mrs. Dixie Leavitt, a Cedar City resident, was one of 12 prominent Utah leaders called by the Utah Coordinating Coor-dinating Council of Higher Education to serve on a blue-ribbon Citizens Advisory Committee. The j assignment given to the committee was to assess the j critical needs of Utah's state-assisted colleges and j universities.
