Lamoureux, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph G. (Patricia S. ) Lamoureux, 215 South 700 West, Cedar City, received news Monday he has been accepted into the United State Military Academy at West Point. The 17 year old Cedar High School Student said he is very excited at the prospects of attending the famed military academy. "I've been looking at this opportunity for quite a while. "I've always wanted to attend an academy," he said. "I am very excited." , Lamoureux said he applied ap-plied for the opportunity at ! the beginning of his junior 1 year. He has the rare distinction of being sponsored spon-sored by both of Utah's senators as well as the District 2 Congressman. Each ' state senator CHRISTOPHER LAMOUREUX nominates 10 persons on two vacancies alloted to them to the 4,000 student academy. A member of the wrestling and football squads at Cedar High School, Lamoureux said he will enjoy the disciplined atmosphere at the military school. He admits the "first year is hell," but adds that he "loves the physical end of the part of the schooling." Students to West Point are obligated to five years of military career after graduation from the Point. The curicullum at the West Point is assigned Lamoureux noted, and the |
