Show Indoor-Outdoor Explorer The Cedar Breaks District of the Boy Scouts of America, along with Southern Utah State College, is sponsoring the indoor and outdoor Olympics for the Utah National Parks Council, under the leadership leader-ship of Dave Norton advisor, and Oscar Hulet, president of service area 8 presidents association. SUSC will be providing the facility and the man-power to run the program. In past years, hundreds of young scouts have participated in this annual event. All registered Explorers are eligible to participate. The area that boys can come from is the entire Utah National Parks Council which consists of all of southern Utah south of the Point of the Mountain. Registration fee is $3.00 for each registered explorer. Teams will consist of 25 boys or less with a minimum of 5. Check in time is Friday evening April 7, from 6 to 6:30 p.m. Activities will begin at 7 Friday night. Events in the Olympics are; one-on-one basketball, chess, table tennis, swimming, swim-ming, weight lifting, wrestling, general knowledge test, public speaking, diving, archery, gold, tennis and field and track events. Most events will take place in the PE Building on the college campus. Norton says anyone will be welcome to watch the various events. |
