Show PROGRAM SKT: Jackie's School of Dance will present "Shall We Dance" Saturday April 23, at 7:30 p.m. in the Parowan High School Auditorium. Eighty students under the direction of Jackie Webster will present a delightful evening. Admission charge will be 50 cents for J adults and 25 cents for children. South Elementary students watch a demonstration, demon-stration, complete with volunteers from the group, from the culture of Samoa, as offered by Deaun Kimber, Naomi Lunt, Hilda j Williams, Katherine Hipson and Dawn jj Hanks. I Foreign Arts and Customs taught students The South Elementary is observing the "Week of the Arts for the Young" this week, April 18 through 23. This is a statewide program started six years ago for the purpose of enriching the lives of our young people by helping them to enjoy all forms of art through observation ob-servation and participation. This year the theme is "Cultural Harmony Trhough the Arts" and the children are learning about the arts and customs of other countries. A different program has been arranged for each day by the South Elementary PTA under the direction of Principal Clemont Adams and PTA Chairman for Week of the Arts, Clarice Rigby. Monday, the children enjoyed a day in Samoa with Deaun Kimber. They spent Tuesday in Peru with Chio ; Wood. Wednesday they went to Korea with Jim Sevy. j Vijaya Moorty took them to ; India Thursday and Friday they will travel to Switzerland Swit-zerland with Judy Curtis. The week of the Arts is sponsored by such state organizations as the Utah State Board of Education, Utah Institute of Fine Arts, Utah Congress of Parents and Teachers, and others. |
