Show BIG WINNKK. Georgie Hartlmeir, 13, was the big winner in recent competition at Snowbird. His brother Robbie also placed well. Hartlemeirs garner honors at Snow Bird Georgie Hartlemeir, pictured, and his brother Robby, were two of the many participants in the Snow Bird Slalom Derby, held this past Saturday and Sunday at the Salt Lake area resort. Georgie, 13, came away as the winner of his class. He placed first on Saturday, winning over the next competitor by a big margin of 2.7 seconds. Georgie also placed second on Sunday. Son of Mr. and Mrs. George Hartlemier, he was also singled out to advance from novice to intermediate in one weekend of competition, an advancement that generally takes months of competition. Seventy youngsters were in the competition class entered en-tered by the local boy. Meanwhile, brother Robby took third place during Sunday's running of the :,slalom competition. The Snowbird Slalom Derby is a sanctioned race, with skiiers from Utah, Idaho and Wyoming entering. Father Geroge said he was particularly par-ticularly proud of his sons' performance considering the limited racing available at Brian Head this winter. He said it was their first real entry in competition and he hopes it helps put Brian Head on the map. |
