"This special type of thrill," Director Mclntyre says, "is a brand of terror which the audience appreciates but one which doesn't engulf them, doesn't make them a part of the action on stage." Written by Frederick Knott, "Wait Until Dark"; has been called by its critics "a tense thriller,", "a first-rate shocker. . .the suspense drama we've long awaited eagerly." The story deals with a young woman's experience with fear. "As an assurance that there will be sympathy along with the terror, the object of the play's sinister activities is a blind girl, but don't think she has to be pitied," Mclntyree said. Susy, the intended victim of the three con men in the play, is a courageous and enterprising young woman played by Janette Spencer, Salt Lake City. Susy was originally played by Lee Remick on Broadway and by Audrey Hepburn in the movie version of the play. With her photographer husband off on assignment, Susy is assisted in her two-day ordeal by a prying little 11-year-old girl played by Marie Striegel, Henderson, Nevada.
