Show Lady-birds meet CEU before Road Trip A busy week lies ahead for the Southern Utah State women's basketball team. Thursday, SUSC hosts College of Eastern Utah. Eyraud leads the way with a 19.7 average, while Hendrix scores at 18.9 and Rambicure 10.3. Eyraud also has a team leading 90 assists with Rambicure Ram-bicure pulling down the most rebounds at 10.5. Next week the lady T-Birds travel to Colorado to take on Mesa (Friday) and Ft. Lewis (Saturday). another non-conference game with the University of Utah junior varsity. SUSC opened its season with a 68-61 win over Utah. Saturday, the 'Birds find themselves in Pocatello, Idaho, to face rugged Intermountain Conference foe Idaho State. The contest will probably determine who will win the IMC west division championship. The lady T-Birds stand 12-1 overall and 7-0 in the IMC. Idaho State is 9-3 overall and 5-1 IMC. The Bengals' lone IMC loss came at the expense of the T-Birds earlier this season, 78-73 in overtime. In that game SUSC outrebounded ISU, 73-46. But since then the Bengals have improved their rebounding and defense. Last week ISU ripped Adams State, 78-37, and Ricks, 74-34. Mary Bond, a 5-9 freshman forward, has come on to lead ISU. Bond heads the Bengal scoring with a 13.8 average and also pulls down 10.2 rebounds. In the first meeting Bond scored only eight points but had eight rebounds. Ginger Reid, a 5-6 senior guard, is another scoring threat for the Bengals. Reid scores at 10.4 per game, and against SUSC the first time she broke loose for 22 points. The T-Birds' only loss so far this season was to BYU's JV, 88-73, 88-73, a team ISU beat 56-48. "It is going to be tough to win |
