Show 200 aticnd Henry Lunt family reunion on weekend The descendants of Henry Lunt, early Cedar City and Iron County Pioneer, gathered in Cedar City and on Cedar Mountain Friday, Saturday and Sunday for a reunion of all branches of tho family. They came from Maryland, Virginia, Indiana, Now Mexico, Mex-ico, Arizona, California and Nevada and all parts of Utah. Over 200 signed tho register. On Saturday the group gathered on Cedar Mountain and the early hours of the day were spent in seeing Cedar Ce-dar Breaks, Navajo Lake, Cascade Falls, the Ice Caves and etc. Ball games and horse .shoo pitching and visiting were enjoyed during the day. At 5:30 p.m. a delicious dinner din-ner of barbequed chicken, Dutch oven hash browned po- to 9:00 a.m- a sacrament and testimony meeting was held at the 'LDS Institute. This was arranged by Bishop Paul Lunt and conducted by William Wil-liam L. Jones. Evelyn Jones provided the organ music and accompanied for the songs, which were led by Frank Adams. Ad-ams. Many inspirational stories stor-ies were told illustrating the sturdy character and devotion devo-tion of the progenitors of this tatoes, salads, hard rolls, cake and root beer was served to 225. Kent II u let was the Chief Cook, assisted by many local family members. Following tho dinner the group enjoyed an interesting program of songs and short sketches of the lives of the four wives of Henry Lunt. Naomi Na-omi Lunt told of Ellen Whit-taker Whit-taker Lunt; Blanche L. Dot-son Dot-son of Mary Ann Wilson Lunt; Zina L. Rigtay of Ann Gower Lunt and Virl Lunt told of Sarah Ann Lunt. Sunday morning from 7:00 family. A permaanant Henry Lunt Family Organization was effected ef-fected to plan for future reunions re-unions and carry on genealogical genealog-ical research. Dr. Paul Lunt was chosen as the President, with a Vice President from each branch of the family. Books containing sketches of the lives of Henry Lunt and his four wives .and also excerpts from his diary, were compiled and made available to all of his descendants. |
