Show Final home track meet slated by SUSC T-birds Thunderbird cindermen return re-turn home to host their last home meet of the year Satur-day Satur-day as Weber State, Dixie, Snow, and College of Eastern Utah meet head on on the T-Bird T-Bird oval. It will be almost a repeat of a meet four weeks ago in Og-den Og-den the exception of Ricks and Mesa of Colorado not being here but with Dixie added to the remainder. Weber State ran away with that meet and could easily do it again with their greater depth. Not having two or three men that can place in every event will make it tough goring go-ring for the T-Birds to come close to the Wildcats. The Junior Colleges will really have a tough going as SU has easily beaten them in meets earlier in the year. Southern Utah should find themselves in second place and will be looking for some of the best times of the year as they perform for the last time this year at home. Cal Poly Pomona proved too much for everyone this past Saturday as they ran away with the meet In Las Vegas. They scored a total of 80 points to outdistance Weber State 59, University of Nevada Las Vegas 25, and SU 19. Southern Utah only placed right men plus the mile relay team as the tough Cal Poly team had men in two of the first three places In nearly every ev-ery event. Chuck Anderson was the lone first place for the 'Birds as he leaped 21' 3Va" in the long jump to take that event. Kim Matheson and the mile relay team picked up second place points but neither times were as fast as they have been this year. |
