Show Ivan Matheson seeks commission reelection Board of Education .from a multiple county area of the southern iportion of the state under the realignment program pro-gram as established by the legislature. Filing dates for all county offices will be through May 10 at 5 p.m. Filings for the County - School Board will be open until the last Wednesday in June. That is an advancement advance-ment of one month from previous pre-vious filing deadlines established estab-lished .by the recent special legislative session of the state. Also the position of Fifth Judicial Judge, currently held by Joe Burns of Cedar City, will expire and a seperat non-partisan ' iballot will toe presented to the electorate to fill this iposition. Hulet, Iron County Clerk, noted that in the past the candidate for State Representative Repre-sentative could file within the county. However, under the new districting to make the position a multi-county representation, repre-sentation, candidates for this office must file with the Sec retary of State. Ivan Matheson of Cedar Valley Val-ley was the first candidate to file for election in Iron County, Coun-ty, it was reported by Clair Hulet, clerk. Matheson, an incumbent member of the Iron County Commission filed Tuesday for re-election to a four year term. Matheson has filled two terms on the commission, one a two year term and is now completing com-pleting a four year term in office. On a county level a two year commission term will also al-so be up for. election. The position is currently held by D. Robinson of Parowan. Senator Dixie Leavitt of Cedar Ce-dar City also announced this week that he has filed for reelection re-election to the Utah Senate representing District 29 including includ-ing the counties of Iron, Washington, Wash-ington, Kane, Garfield and Beaver. Other offices for which filings fil-ings will be made in the future fu-ture includes a Representative t0 the State Legislature for the newly created district 74 which includes Iron and Kane Counties. Incumbent representative repre-sentative from Iron County is Harold Mitchell. Two seats of the Iron County Coun-ty Board of Education will also al-so be up for election this year. Currently representing those seats are Dr. Garth Chatterley, representing the southwest section of Cedar City and Ken Knight, representing the northwest north-west portion of Cedar City.
