Interstate highway 15 will be complete from Las Vegas, Nevada to Paragonah, Utah. . Utah Highway officials met with Arizona Highway officials offic-ials in St. George recently to discuss the completion of Interstate In-terstate 15 from St George through Arizona to the Arizona-Nevada state line. According to William N. Price, Arizona State Highway Engineer, Arizona will have all of their Interstate 15 open to traffic toy late spring or early summer of 1973. Two pavang contracts remain for completion of the 29 mile section sec-tion which crosses the northwest north-west corner of Arizona. The first contract to pave from Littlefield to Cedar . Pocket will be advertised this month. Another contract, which will finish the paving from Cedar Pocket to the Utah State line, will be advertised this summer. sum-mer. Two separate contracts for interchanges at Littlefield and Cedar Pocket will foe advertised, adver-tised, but probably won't be mtirely completed when the highway is opn to public use. A portion of the paving involves in-volves a recently constructed, 3.8 mile section of 1-15 through the monsterous Virgin River Gorge. This $15,000,000 section of road, constructed by Peter Kiewitt, is probably one of the most expensive pieces of I interstate in the nation on a j cost per mile ibasds. Utah has almost $11,000,000 |
