It was thought, at one time, that he mtfght consider seeking seek-ing the United States Senate seat currently held by Wallace Wall-ace F. Bennett, Republican. A native 0f Bountiful, Rampton Ramp-ton attended Davis County public schools, completed undergraduate un-dergraduate work at the University Uni-versity of Utah and George Washington University. He received re-ceived his Juris Doctor degree from University of Utah in 19-40. 19-40. He has served as Governor of Utah since 1965 and during that period of time has served in many additional capacities including chairman of the Western Governors Conference, chairman of the Four Corners Regional Committee, member of the executive committee of the National Governors' Conference Con-ference on two occasions, chairman of the Education Commission of the States for a term as well as others. |
