Show Utah, who will discuss "A Technical History of the Iron Mission." Melvin T. Smith, director of the Utah State Department of Historv. will speak on "History and the Art;.." Gary Forbush, state officer for the preservation preserva-tion of historical sites, will explain "Getting Help from Federal and State Agencies and from Foundations." Glenn Leonard, state officer in charge of historical activities activi-ties will present a talk on "The Local Organization, its Problems and Opportunities." A question and answer session ses-sion involving speakers will I precede a buzz session of participants par-ticipants to answer questions involved in local cooperation of all groups interested in southern Utah history. Group reports will conclude business for the day. A Tioneer Benefit Dinner-Dance Dinner-Dance in behalf of the Iron Mission Park will bo held in the new LDS Institute Building Build-ing Saturday evening begin-ning begin-ning at 6:30. Reservations may' be obtained by contacting Mrs. Keith Higbee, chairman. Anyone interested in any of . the Saturday events is invited to participate, according to ' Mrs. Cooper. SUSC workshop scheduled for this Saturday A local history preservation workshop will be held Saturday, Satur-day, March IS beginning at 1 p.m. in the Special Collections Room of the Southern Utah State College Liibrary under joint sponsorship of the Iron County Historical Society, Iron County Mission Park Commission, Sons of the Utah Pioneers, Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, and the SUSC Special Collections Library. According to Mrs. Inez Cooper, special collections librarian li-brarian at SUSC, emphasis of the program will be on solving local problems and working together for historical preservation preser-vation in southern Utah. Themed "Let's Get Together for History's Sake," the meetings meet-ings will feature a number of special guest sipeakers and resource re-source personnel.
