Show Funeral services honor Curtis Boardman Funeral services for Sp4 Curtis Boardman, 21, were held Friday, May 21), in the Para-gonah Para-gonah Ward Chape under the direction of the Ward Bishopric. Bishop-ric. Boardman, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Williams S. Boardman of Paragonah, was killed by elec trocution May 20, while on service in Vietnam. The family prayer was by Charles Boardman, and prelude pre-lude and postlude music was by Mrs. Melva Barton. National Na-tional Guard members Gary Miller and, Eugene Robb presented pre-sented the colors, The opening song "America" was by the choir, directed by D. Amasa Stones, and Clark Lamoreaux onerecl ino invo- j cation. Speakers were Col. Max Dalley, Jay Monson and Bishop Myron; Abbott. Musical Mus-ical numbers were "Battle Hymn of the Republic" by President Howard Knight, accompanied ac-companied by Mrs. Ruth Ann Bentley; "Climb Every Mountain", Moun-tain", by Diana, Orton, Cheri Holyoak, Annette Stubbs, Kathleen Mitchell and Kathy Leydsman, accompanied by Geraldine Matheson, and a Western Medley by Verl Taylor, Tay-lor, accompanied by Mrs. Jackie Robinson. The choir sang "Sometime We'll Understand," and Donald Don-ald Cartwright pronounced the benediction. The dedicatory prayer was by Capt. Eugene Boardman and the Military Honors were directed by Lt. Charles Lep-pert. Lep-pert. He was assisted by a detail from Dugway Proving Grounds. Thq flag was presented pre-sented to the parents by the Military Escort, Sp4 Richard Petsoff, who had accompanied accompan-ied the body from Oaklaand, Calif. "Taps" was played by Alan Robinson and Joe Williamson. Wil-liamson. Relatives who were here for the funeral were Mr- and Mrs. Basil Rose of Hemmet, Calif, and their daughter, Mrs. Tom Sanchez, Big Bear, Calif.; Mrs. Catherine Dick and son Bob and Mr. and Mrs. Glen Cox of of San Bernardino, Calif.; Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Roundy, Huntington Park, Calif.; Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Fretwell, Cedar Ce-dar City; Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Law-rence Fretwell, Salt Lake City, Ci-ty, and Mr. and Mrs. Barlo Cahoon and childrn, Deseret. Also present were Mr- and Mrs. Brent Player of Ogden, whose son was with Curt in Vietnam. |
