Show Two Iron County Clinics Planned In State "Muzzle Measles" Move It is estimated that there are nearly 56,000 susceptible children in Utah. The goal of the "Muzzle Measles" campaign cam-paign is to immunize each one 'on Saturday, May 13, 1967. It was done with polio, it can be I done with measles. Serious complications can arise from measles. Yet, measles meas-les can be eliminated with one simple immunization. Over 60 immunization clinics clin-ics will be established throu-out throu-out the state of Utah in support sup-port of the "Muzzle Measles" campaign of the Utah State Medical Association and the Utah State Department of Health. In Iron County two clinics will be held, both on Saturday, Satur-day, May 13. In Cedar City the clinic will be at the South Elementary School and In Parowan clinic will be held. The measles immunization project is being conducted as a part of a nationwide campaign cam-paign to wipe out red measles. meas-les. A single dose of the vaccine vac-cine developed by Dr. Anton J. F. Schwarz of Pitman-Moore Chemical Co., can be given -which will prevent a child from contracting measles. Any child from ages 1 to to 12 who has not had measles or has never had a measles shot can be immunized at the clinic. The vaccine is free of charge. A donation of 50-cents per child is suggested. According to C. Clark Welling Well-ing general campaign chairman, chair-man, children who are under un-der treatment for tuberculos-sis, tuberculos-sis, leukemia and other malig-are malig-are allergic to eggs or who nancies as well as those who are allergic to eggs or who have a history of convulsions should receive the vaccine under un-der the care of a private physician phy-sician and not at the clinic site. |
