Show CHAUNCEY ADAMS -J- j-)' j-)' vl fill LORRAINE ROWLEY Student Winners Named in flux. Essay Contest Mrs. Eulala T. Orton, chairman chair-man of the Americanism committee com-mittee of the Parowan unit of the American Legion Auxiliary, Auxil-iary, reports that the annual essey contest with an Americanism Ameri-canism theme held at the high school on Washington's birthday, was very successful as well as interesting. Some very good talks were given by members of seventh, eighth, ninth and 12th grade students, In the senior division the winner was Chauncey Adams, with Bonnie Jensen and Jennie Jen-nie Dalton as runners-up. In the junior division (7, 8, 9). Lorraine Rowley was the first place winner with Mettie Jane Robinson and Jolene Mitchell as runners-up. Adams is a son of Mrs. Roy Adams and Miss Rowley is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Rob-ert Rowley. Mrs. Orton extends her thanks to all of the students who worked so hard to make this program a success. She extends special thanks to Marvin Mar-vin Graff, Lowell Caldwell, Jean Hendrickson and Mrs. Gary Bentley for assisting the participants. Other features of the program, pro-gram, was a talk by gram included a talk on George" Washington, by A. C. Hatch and some very good musical numbers from the P. H. S. music department. |
