Show Doves First Target Of '68 Hunt Season Mourning doves will be the target of scattergunners as the first bird hunt of 1968 gets underway on Monday, Sept. 2, at 6:25 a. m. for an estimated esti-mated 25,000 hunters. Open rangelands will provide pro-vide the better hunting areas as doves will frequent these lands rather than the cultivated cultivat-ed lands. Basic rules for this season call for a September 2-30 hunt with a bag and possession pos-session limit of 10 and 20 respectively with shooting J hours of one half hour before be-fore sunrise to sunset each day of the season. This year's bag and possession limits are a reduction from past years. The entire state is open except ex-cept part of Salt Lake and Utahr Counties, and the same regulation on having shotguns shot-guns plugged so no gun can K6ra more than three shells in the magazine and chamber combined is in effect. Dove hunters are again asked ask-ed to abide by regulations which make it unlawful to shoot from a vehicle or to shoot at doves on power or telephone lines or poles. |
