Show Former Cedar City Gal 'Bowls' Them Over In Las Vegas Mary Sparrow, of Las Vegas, Nev., the former Mary Davis of Cedar City, walked off with the city championship in the Las Vegas Bowling tourney. Mrs. Sparrow rolled 1892 in the city tournament to record the highest score rolled in tournament play for both Las Vegas and Nevada. There were only three W- , IBC tournament winners to , roll higher than this. Her ser- ; ies was 615-598-678. And 279 was her high game. She had previously rolled a 279 in - league play, but 678 is her n highest series to date. Having entered with a . 180 average, she was given 16 pins per game handicap and, ' therefor, finished with a 726 to win A division singles as well as scratch all-events In the tourney competition. Having bowleg about 12 ' years, the former Cedar City resident, has about 42 trophies troph-ies in her collection. In addition ad-dition to winning the team event in city tournament, Las Vegas Bowl's team, she has won - the BPAA tournament (1961) in California. In 1963 she claimed high game in city (269), was Las Champion in 1965, was state Vegas Bowl's March of Dimes all -events champion in 1966, and won the 600 Club Tournament Tourn-ament in 1967. |
