Show CEDAR CITY SOCIAL SWING Mr. and Mrs. George Has-lam Has-lam enjoyed having their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. James Wood of Las Vegas, Ve-gas, Nev. visit with them last week. While in Utah, the Has-lams Has-lams and Woods traveled to Marysvalle Utah to visit with Mr. and Mrs. James Wood, Sr. Later the entire group met again in Cedar City where they held outings at Navajo Lake and other scenic spots. Visiting in Cedar City recently re-cently with Mr. and Mrs. Mel-born Mel-born Ashdown were Mrs. Ash-down's Ash-down's parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Haslam of Valao, Cal. They were accompanied here by their son Lee. PAST PRESIDENTS OF LADIES OF ELKS Fifteen members of the Past Presidents of Ladies of Elks met for their seasonal meeting meet-ing August 4th at the Wood's Ranch Recreation area. The organization members get together to-gether four times each year for social activities. The Friday Fri-day night social included a a barbeque and games with prizes being awarded to Mildred Mil-dred Thompson, Norma Mac-farlane, Mac-farlane, Idonna Jackson, and Dorothy Urie, Chairman for the event was Gwen Beal with Rita Adams, Nadine Nelson, Barbara Hunter and Donna Reid as commitee members. A Jolley Family reunion i held in Salt Lake City provided provid-ed the occasion for several local lo-cal families to meet here with relatives then travel on to northern Utah for the festivities. festivi-ties. Arriving in Cedar City to visit and accompany Mr. and Mrs. Cluff Jolley and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hunter to the reunion were Mrs. Doris Claw-son Claw-son and son Loyal of Cudahy, Calif, and Mrs. Gam Hirschi and children Neil and Cindy. In Salt Lake City, the group met with former residents, Mr. and Mrs. Milt Jolley who attended at-tended the family activities with them. Still visiting in Cedar City after the reunion are young Neil Hirschi and Brad Cary. They are dividing their time with the Cluff Jolley family and the Robert Hunter family fam-ily while Shanna and Ellen Jolley remain in northern Utah for an extended visit with relatives and friends. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Higbee entertained for six other couples at the North Fork Ranch last week end. Party activities were enjoyed by Mr. and Mrs. Kinley Gleaves, Mr. and Mrs. Clark Dennett, Mr. and Mrs. Kent Walton, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Berrett, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Reber and Mr. and Mrs. Reynold Dennett. Mrs. Ted Kelsey and sons are visiting in southern Utah with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Pace. They will return to their home in Las Vegas this week end. |
