Show CSU Faculty Members Participate In National Science Foundation Program Two College , of Southern Utah faculty members are participating in a 21-day institute in-stitute sponsored by Columbia University Teachers College, it was announced by Dr. Wes-l?y Wes-l?y P. Larsen, dean of the CSU School of Science. Professors George LeBaron and Lee Mor-' rell, instructors in physical sciences, are two of 24 individuals indiv-iduals from throughout the na-' tion invited to participate in the institute whch opened on Monday, June 10 and will continue con-tinue through June 30. The program, which is sup-; ported by the National Sci-! ence Foundation, is designed to acquaint college faculty members with two new elementary elem-entary school science programs. pro-grams. The two curricula to be considered are: Science A Process Approach, and the Science Sci-ence Curriculum Improvement After the training period, the resource individuals and groups will conduct work-ihops work-ihops or in-service programs, or both, for. teachers in school districts where new curriculum materials are being introduced, introduc-ed, Dr. Larsen said. |
