Show Gun and Rod Club Planning Summer Activities At the regular June meeting meet-ing of the Parowan Gun and Rod Club, held at the clubhouse club-house on Thursday evening, June 6, some projects for the future activity of the club were studied and acted upon annording to Albert Orton, reporter. re-porter. First and foremost will be a project to improve the clubhouse club-house on 200 West Street, a facility members have been using for several years. The project will be to install laminated lam-inated beams in the house to support the roof which is beginning be-ginning to sag, as shown by cracks in the ceiling. The club members voted to make application to operate a food concession at the 1968 Iron County Fair which will be held in Parowan on the Labor Day weekend in September. Sep-tember. Plans are to sell barbecued bar-becued beef dinners or sandwiches sand-wiches at a spot where the fair crowds gather on the big. day, if one is available. The project will be to raise funds for expansion of the present clubhouse to improve its facilities. fa-cilities. At a recent meeting of the club, Mr. Orton informs us that a decision was made to abandon plans for construction construc-tion of a new club house at the Yankee Reservoir, with the reason given being, the restrictions faced and care for such a dace. The members also voted to hold their next meeting at the Yankee Reservoir on July 20 at 8 p. m. All members of the group are urged to attend. |
