Show Concentrated Hunter Safety Course Offered Cedar Youths A concentrated hunter safety course for youths will be staged Satur-'-y through the cooperative efforts of the Cedar City Recreation Recrea-tion Department, the State Fish and Game Department and the Iron County Jeep Patrol. The course will be concetrated into a single day and will begin at 8 a. m. and conclude at 6 p. m., according to Ken Benson, recreation supervisor. Benson Indicated that the course is the only one to be given in Cedar City until pxt spring and all boys and girls, who have or will turn 14 and are interested interest-ed in obtaining a hunting license have been advised to sign up. It will be necessary prior to Saturday Satur-day to obtain from Benson, at the Cedar Junior High School, application cards which must be signed by parents, giving per- mission for tne youths to participate. partici-pate. Saturday the participants will meet at the Junior High School and travel to the shooting range North of Cedar City where course instruction will be given. Objective Objec-tive of the course, as stated by the chairman, is to qualify every' elegible person in the area. Participants will be required to supply a .22 calibre rifle with the action open and gun completely com-pletely unloaded.. Grading wil include the student's handling of the weapon; a sack lunch, as no one will be permitted to leave once instruction begins; a box of .22 bulletts, a encil and notebook, note-book, and 50 cents to cover the cost of materials. j Hunter safety cards will be issued is-sued to those who successfully complete the course.
