Show Ordinance Adopted Affecting City Property Owners An ordinance has been adopted adopt-ed by the Cedar City Council that is design d to prevent the obstruction of vision of automobile automo-bile drivers and pedestrians as a. -safety measure. The ordinance which becomes effective on March 18, provides that no fence higher than 30 inches in-ches In height shall be placed closer than io feet of the property prop-erty line, and In the case of corner cor-ner lots not closer than 30 feet. The ordinance not only prohibits building of fences more than 24 feet high, but prohibits shrubbery shrub-bery on the front of the lot that grows higher and obstructs the i view of those using the streets and sidewalks. Exception is made for the planting of trees, but provides that they must be pruned to u height of at least six f-ct. The samo ordinance wovides that curb and gutter and sidewalks side-walks must be installed when any new home is erected. The curb, gutter and sidewalk may be included in the contract for the structure, but must be installed in-stalled before the house Is occupied. occu-pied. The ordinance also provides that the installation must be made on lots If any alteration Is made on an existing home. An alteration is described In the ordinance as any additional construction con-struction made that may not be considered repairs.
