Show Dairy Company Issues Annual Report At the annual meeting of the stockholders of the Southern Utah Dairy Co. Monday night an election was held to name three new board members for two year terms and hear a report of the business of the company for the past year. T. A. Robinson, president of the board, conducted the meeting land Win Seegmlller, bookkeeper for the business, gave the finan- -1 clal report, with added items be-ing be-ing discussed by Alton Pendleton, company manager. I Two of the present members of I the board, whose terms expired -at this time. Howard M. Adams and Grayson Gurr, were re-elected for another two-year term. The third retiring board member, Alma Evans, was replaced by Revere Robinson, Paragonah. T. I A. Robinson and Roy Benson are holdover members with another year to serve. Evans has acted las secretary for the board during the past year. ! The annual report of the business bus-iness of the company or cooper-ative cooper-ative showed that gross sales for 1958 were $251,381.32. Sales made by the grocery and meats department accounted for the biggest per cent of this, or $144,-651.26. $144,-651.26. Other departments were Feeds, $40,455.73; cheese sales, $56,374.33 locker rentals were $6,537.21 M Total assets of the cooperative were $95,359.41 and current liabilities lia-bilities were $32.83396. The payroll pay-roll for the year was $32,427.57. property taxes paia amoumeu iu $1,561.55. payroll taxes came to $1,389.42 and licenses for operating operat-ing the business were $344.08. I Purchase made during the year were as follows: for groceries and meats $127,605.74, milk pur-chases pur-chases were $45,764.68 and feeds purchases $36,401.86. During the past year the grocery gro-cery department has been enlarged enlarg-ed and arranged to better serve the customers, and other improvements im-provements made. An enlarged production ol cheese has been made possible through the cooperation co-operation of Arden Meadow Gold creameries and that company is also marketing the cheese manufactured man-ufactured by the Parowan plant to a better advantage at . the present time. ' , ' The Southern Utah Dairy Co. has Just recently installed a line of appliances, obtained through the Utah Co op. These appliances are made for the Utah Co-op by one of the largest makers of appliances In America and the line includes refrigerators, freezers, freez-ers, washers and dryers, electric ranges and water heaters. Several Sever-al of these appliances are now on display at the company place of business. I At the close of the meeting I refreshments were served to all) in attendance. |
