Show Anniversary Banquet Observed by Two Beta Chapters Cedar City two chapters of Beta Be-ta Sigma Phi joined together Thursday night at Sullivan's for a Thirtieth Anniversary Banquet. Anniversary cakes decorated the long tables, and dainty hankies han-kies marked each individual place setting. President of the Omega Chapter, Chap-ter, Meredith Rice, officiated at the rituals while president of XI-Omega, XI-Omega, Jean Cormani, served as toastmlstress for the evening. Guest speaker for the special occasion was Fern Amend. Songs bung by Ann Hansen, Carol Holman, Mavis Munson and Gladys Isom completed the program., pro-gram., Leta Cowley serves as sponsor for the chapters. Barbara Meeks and Joan Skinner were In charge of the evenings arrangements. Preceding the banquet rituals were given to thirteen new members mem-bers as follows: Donna Higgins, Carol Holman, Doris Sears, Elenore Judd, Zelda Eager, Doris McCannon, Pat Wilkes, Jeannette Barrett, Lorea Durrant, Barbara Mitchell, Georgia Geor-gia Prisbrey, Anna Mae Quarn-berg Quarn-berg and Adele Evans. Beta Sigma Phi was founded 30 years ago in Abilene, Kansas. It is an international organization and has chapters In fourteen countries. It has won international internation-al recognition from people and governments for its skill in the Art of Living. Membership consists con-sists of 150,000. The organization contributes to many worthy causes. A few of are: Endowment Fund which contributes contri-butes to important research into diseases. Exemplar Fund aids in bringing bring-ing light of learning to women in India. Loan Fund which is a great help to members. Girlstown U. S. A. at White-face, White-face, Texas, fqor neglected girls. |
