Show Cedar City School Children Launch Clothina Drive Beginning Monday, Jan. 14, lo. cal school children will brins bandies of used clothing to school during World Clothing Week. According to Superintendent Superinten-dent of Schools lanthus Wright, the drive will continue through Friday and Is part of a nationwide nation-wide campaign to raise used clothing, shoos and bedding for orphaned and needy children and adults in the United States and overseas. World Clothing Week is conducted by the si'uuuis in iixifHTaiion wnn me Christian Children's Fund, Inc., a charitable organization which assists orphans and other neody children in the United Scates and 30 countries of the world. Superintendent Wright ""had this to . say when announcing the drive: "We expect World Clothing Week to be one of the finest service projects ever conducted con-ducted by our schools. The cloth-ing cloth-ing collected Is used in handicapped handi-capped areas of America by C. C. F. to help needy children some jof whom can't even attend school regularly because they have no coat or shoes. It goes to i orphans ami other needy children chil-dren in the United States and overseas. Also, free clothing and (bedding is distributed during disaster di-saster emergency situations. Every student has been g'ven literature lit-erature to take home explaining jthe purpose of the drive and t asking the cooperation of parents par-ents and friends." j Mr. Wright continued: "The Christian Children's Fund re- l ports that good used clothing is1 one of the most vital needs of' I children and adults the world j over. Through World Clothing j j Week, the school children of Iron County will see to It that many needy boys and girls will be warmly clad this winter.
