Show Upknd Bird Hunting Season Opens Saturday, November 9 Utah's pheasant and other upland up-land game bird seasons will all get underway at 8:00 a. m. Saturday, Sa-turday, Nov. 9. Pheasant season is set for three days statewide and only cock pheasants may be legally taken. Bag limits will be three birds and possesion limit is six. Following the opening at 8:0C a. m. hunting will continue on the opening day until 5:30 p. m. Sunday and Monday hunting may begin at 7:00 a. m. and continue con-tinue through 5:30 p. m. Cedar Valley will be opened for pheasant hunting. However, it will be necessary for sportsmen sports-men planning to hunt in this area to obtain a special permit to be purchased for $1.00 at any of the sporting goods stores in Cedar City. Hunts for quail, Hugarlan partridge par-tridge and chukar partridge have ber set for many counties this year. Quail hunt will run concurrently con-currently with the pheasant hunt In those counties open. Hunts for Hungarian and chukar partridge par-tridge will also run concurrently concurrent-ly in all counties open. Counties closed to quail hunting hunt-ing include most of southern Utah. They are Beaver, Iron and Kane, in addition to Cache, Daggett Dag-gett and Rich in northern Utar. Hungarian and chukar partridge, par-tridge, on the other hand, May be hunted in most of the southern south-ern Utah counties. Limits on each species is separate se-parate and apart. That Is, a hun. ter may hunt for and possess legal limits of each of the species provided he takes them in counties coun-ties open to such hunting. In the case of quail, and the two breeds of partridge, birds oi either sex may be taken. The bag limit for quail is eight birds with 16 In possession. For Hungarian Hun-garian and chukar partridge, limits correspond to the Pheasant hunt. |
