Mrs. Petty plans call for a five day visit in St. Paul with relatives before continuing on to Rugby, N. D., where she wll spend a few days with her mother, Mrs. Nan Bucklin. Mrs. Petty is anticipating anti-cipating compteing some genealogy gen-ealogy work while she is vacationing. va-cationing. The friends and associates of Mr. and Mrs. Conrad Hatch are welcoming them and their children chil-dren back after a two-years' absence. ab-sence. Mr. Hatch and his family have been living in Ccrvallis, Or-where Or-where he has been attending the university doing work toward to-ward his Ph.D. Mr. and Mrs. Kumcn Gardner traveled to Salt Lake City over the week end to help her son Dane get located prior to his participation In freshmen week and registration at the University Universi-ty of Utah. Other 1957 Cedar City Ci-ty graduates who will attend the U this coming school year are, Sandra Wood, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Wood; Robert Clark, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wil-ford Wil-ford Clark; Ray Endsley, son of Mr. and Mrs. H. M. Endsley; Jerry Jer-ry Farnsworth, son of Dr. and Mrs. Reed W. Farnsworth; Ralph Higbee, son of Mrs. Leo Hall, and Allen Roberts, son of Mr. and Mrs. Morris Roberts. The Holiday on Ice follies attracted at-tracted a large group of Cedar-Ites Cedar-Ites who report having enjoyed the show and also the State Fair with its many exhibits. Some of those who found the performance perform-ance outstanding were Mr. and Mrs. Elloyd Marchant, Mr. and Mrs. Loran Whetten, Dr. and Mrs. L. V. Broadbent, Mr. and Mrs. El-wyn El-wyn Halterman, Mr. and Mrs. McRay Cloward, Mrs. LaRue Schmutz, Mr. and Mrs. Eugeue Woolf and sons, and Mrs. Leslie Pace and daughter Carolyn. Members of the College of Southern South-ern ITt2b faculty also enjoyed the performance as they returned return-ed from an educational conference confer-ence In Logan. Mr. and Mrs. LaMar Graff and their young son, Arnie, have returned re-turned to Salt Lake City after a two-month stay in Cedar City, While at home, Mr. Graff observed ob-served medical techniques at the Cedar City Clinic and Iron County Coun-ty Hospital. He is a student in the medical school of the University Univer-sity of Utah. Paul and Gaylord Graff, also sons of Dr. and Mrs. A. L. Graff, will return to their studies at the University at the beginning of next week. After a summer spent working with the Forest Service in the Payette Forest out of McCall, Idaho, Warren Rigby is once again at home. He is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Eldro Rigby. Off to make a home in Logan while he completes his studies at Utah State University is Rex Sandberg. Mrs. Sandberg and the three boys accompanied Mr. Sandberg. The MBW Club met last Friday at the home of Mrs. Elizabeth Parry. An interesting afternoon was spent by all of those present. pres-ent. Mrs. Katie Stephenron reviewed re-viewed the history of the mission mis-sion of John and Sarah Ann Urle Hunter to the Hole in the Rock story. Mr. and Mrs. Hunter were parents of Mrs. Stephenson. On the occasion of Mrs. Carma Dobson's birthday Mrs. Ruth Bet-enson Bet-enson entertained at a birthday brunch. Slack to her home for a morning morn-ing of visiting and wishing Mrs. Dobson many happy returns. The group presented the guest of honor with a lovely gift. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Osborne and daughter Jackie left for Logan last Sunday where they will make a home while Mr. Osborne attends Utah State University. Mr. Osborne, who has been attending at-tending CSU, will register as a senior student In secondary education. edu-cation. Mrs. Osborne is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Dover. In Cedar City as a house guest of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Woolf was Miss Mildred Drossier of Salt Lake City. Miss Drossier, a former high school teacher l Mr. Woolf, traveled home with the Woolf family as they return-ed return-ed from Salt Lake last weekend. week-end. Mrs. Leone Lowe and daughter daugh-ter Marilyn rt Santa Ana, Cal. stopped at the home of her son and family, the Walter Lowes, the first of the week as they traveled to Provo where Marilyn will enroll at the Brigham Young University. Also making the trip from California with them were: two aunts of Mr. Lowe, Mrs. Lin. , nie Jensen of Santa Ana and Mrs. J. G. Belnap of Laguna Beach. One of the outstanding fall socials so-cials will take place Saturday evening as Director and Mrs. Royden Braithwaite will entertain enter-tain the C S U faculty and partners part-ners at a kick-off dinner at their home to be held prior to the Dixie- JS'J football game. The Mia Maid group of the Eighth Ward M I A will assist with the serving. Special guests for the evening will bo Board Member L. N. Marsen and his wife. Following Follow-ing the dinner the group will attend at-tend the much anticipated game. Making a new home In Salt Lake City are Mr. and Mrs. Nolan No-lan Ashman and daughter. The Ashmans left Cedar City last week for Salt Lake where Mr. Ashman will enroll at the University Uni-versity of Utah. Mrs. Ashman is the former Yvonne Bauer. |
