Show Farewell Testimonial Slated for Don Pearson Ashcroft Sundy evening at 6:30 in the Second Ward chapel a farewell testimonial will be held in hon or of Don Pearsons Ashcroft, who has been called to serve a two year mission for the Church ol Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints The many friends and relatives of Mr. Ashcroft have been extended ex-tended a cordial invitation to attend. at-tend. Mr. Ashcroft is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Theron Ashcroft of Cedar Ce-dar City. He will serve In the Southern States Mission field and will enter the mission home in Salt Lake City on Wednesday Oct. 9 in preparation for entering enter-ing the mission field. Speakers at the testimonial will include Bishop Clemont B Adams, remarks by Bishop Forrest For-rest Anderson, who will preside, and William L. Jones. Members of the family will also speak with a response from the missionary. The musical portion of the pro-gram pro-gram -will include a vocal duet by O'Larry Jones and James Thorley, accompanied by Belle M. Jones, and a vocal trio by sisters of Mr. Ashcroft, Susan, Judy and Kay Ashcroft. Invocation Invoca-tion will be by Roland Palmer, and benediction by Harl E. Judd. Mr. Ashcroft Is a graduate of the Cedar High School and College Col-lege of Southern Utah In Cedar City. He attended the Utah State University Ift season, studying in the field of engineering. While In high school he was a member of the Key Club, the FFA and was a member of the school's wrestling team. As CSU and at USU as well, he was prominent with the Intercollegiate Intercol-legiate Knights, serving as an officer of-ficer of the CSU and the USU or-ganizations or-ganizations and while at CSU he also served as an officer of the IK's on a national level. He was t also a member of the engineer r club at CSU and USU. i Mr. Ashcroft spent the summer working for the Bureau of Land I Management as foreman of a ) surveying party in Arizona. |
