Show NATIONAL FOREST TIMBER FOR SALE Scaled bids will be received by the Forest Supervisor, or his authorized representative, In the office of the Forest Supervisor, Cedar City, Utah, up to and not later than 10:00 a. m., June 17, , 1963, for all live and recently dead (sound sap wood) timber marked or designated for cutting on an area of approximately 1401 acres in the Asay Creek drain-1 age, T. 37 S., R. 6 W.; T 37 S., B, 7 W.; T. 38 S., R. 6 W.; T. 38 S., R. 7 W.; Salt Lake Base an Meridian, Dixie National Forest,1 estimated to contain live and recently dead (sound sapwood) sawtlmber as follows: 1950 M. bd. ft of ponderosa pine, more or less. In addition, there is within the sale area an unestimated volume of merchantable older dead (unsound sapwood) ponderosa pon-derosa pine sawtlmber which will be paid for a $1.00 per M. bd. ft The minimum acceptable bid per M. bd. ft for live and recently recent-ly dead (sound sapwood) timber is: For ponderosa pine logs $6.44. This Includes per M. bd. ft $5.04 for stumage composed of a base rate of $3.00 for stumpage plus an additional $2.04 for stumpage and required deposit of $1.40 for slash disposal. The prices bid for stumpage for live and recently dead (sound sapwood) timber shall be considered con-sidered as tentative rates subject to quarterly calendar adjustment upward or downward by 0.5 of the difference between the average aver-age of the selling price indices, as calculated by the Forest Ser- vice at the end of each calendar! quarter, and the following base. Index: I Ponderosa pine 82.75 In no event, however, shall the payment rates for each quarter be less than the base rates as stated above. I When the adjusted rates for species are lower than the base rates, the difference between the total dollar value of timber cut at adjusted rates and at base rates will be recorded for each species. The stumpage rate for any species will not be increased above the base rates until the subsequent adjusted rates above base rates for all species develop an accumulated total dollar value val-ue in excess of the total recorded accumulated difference for all species. The stumpage rates for older dead (unsound sapwood) timber will not be subject to quarterly adjustment A certified check, cashier's check, bank draft, or money 6r-der, 6r-der, payable to the Forest Service, Ser-vice, USDA, in the amount of $2,-100.00 $2,-100.00 must accompany each bid to be applied on the purchase price, refunded or retained in whole or In part as actual or liquidated li-quidated damages according to the provisions of the bid. The right to reject any and all bids is reserved. Before bids are submitted ful information concerning con-cerning the timber, the conditions of the sale, and submssion of bids should be obtained from the District Ranger, Cedar City Utah; or the Forest Supervisor, Cedar City, Utah.
