Show "Different World of Utah" Tours Described in Series of Articles (Editor's note: This is the first la a series ol articles on "21 Tours Through the Different World of Utah." These tours hare been planned by the Utah Tourist and Publicity Council to show you Utah's most outstanding outstand-ing attractions with the least amount of driving. In the shortest short-est time, and over the best roads or ail able. By talcing each one of these tours, a person could conceivably con-ceivably see the entire state on week ends within a year.) Salt Lake Valley was first settled by the Mormon pioneers back in 1847, and to this day stands as "the crossroads of the west," an ever popular stopping place for travelers. A tour of the valley can be taken in one or two days, depending de-pending on how much time you spend at each attraction. It can be taken at any time of the year, although the Pioneer Village (10 on the map) is closed during the winter. This tour Includes many of the most notable points of interest in Salt Lake Valley those original ori-ginal attractions which give the valley its special charm and make It a continuing favorite of world travelers. They are "musts" for anyone seeking more than a superficial knowledge of the valley for persons desiring to learn about its historical and religious background, its present day culture, its natural setting. Because of space limitations, it has been necessary to sumarlze these major points of interest, number them, and key their numbers to an approximate location lo-cation on the adjoining map: l.Mormon attractions: Temple Square (Church, Museum, Tabernacle Taber-nacle and Great Organ, Temple, Assembly Hall, Log Cabin, Monuments, Monu-ments, Gardens; daily organ recital, re-cital, Tabernacle Choir.) Next (Hotel Utah, Mormon Church Offices, Of-fices, Lion House & Beehive House, Eagle Gate.) Brigham Young Monument 2. State Capitol Mormon Battalion Bat-talion Monument, Old City Hall, Pioneer Memorial Museum. 3. Memory Park in City Creek Canyon. 4. Primary Children's Hospital (Mormon). 5. Scenic Drive along Wasatch Boulevard (11th Avenue) with panoramic view of valley, city, moutains. 6. Shriners Children's Hospital, Governor's Mansion. 7. University of Utah (Fine Arts Museum, Geology Museum, Union Un-ion Building, etc.). Salt Lake Art i Center nearby. 8. Fort Douglas (historic military mili-tary post)-upper campus of University Uni-versity of Utah, Veterans Administration Admin-istration Hospital. 9.
