Show Ten Injured in Head-on Collision Ten persons were hospitalized at the Valley View Medical Center Cen-ter Wednesday, July 10 following a three-car smashup on U. S. Highway 91 on Buckhorn flat, 10 miles south of Beaver. Four ambulances Vfeie dis patched to handle the. injured which included initially two in critical condition and five In serious condition. Five remained hospitalized this week with five being released. Seven passengers in a station wagon from California were all hospitalized along with three persons per-sons from a second vehicle from Opoe, Neb., which was hit head-on head-on when the California car, driven driv-en by Mrs. Jean A. Mackin, 51, went out of control following a blow out and swerved aooss the center line to hit head on. A third vehicle with two occupants occu-pants who were uninjured was involved when it struck the California Ca-lifornia car when it came to rest broadside in the south bound lane of traffic, according to Gor- don Farnsworth, Utah Highway Patrolman who investigated. When hit the second time the California car burst into flame .and burned completely destroying destroy-ing the car and all personal pos sessions of the seven passengers. Fortunately the occupants of the car were pulled from the wreckage without suffering injury in-jury from the flames. All of the victims of the accident acci-dent are reported recovering satisfactorily sat-isfactorily this week with two still in serious condition. |
