Show Newsletter Reports Economic Conditions in Utah Personal Income in Utah during dur-ing the first half of 1962 totaled to-taled approximately $1,030,000,-000, $1,030,000,-000, an increase of some $55 million mil-lion over that for the tlrst half of 19G2. That is the report of First Security Se-curity Bank in its quarterly news letter which will be released during dur-ing the week, it was announced this week by Francis W. Beten-son, Beten-son, manager, First Security Bank, Cedar City. The Newsletter is edited by El Roy Nelson, First Security vice president and economist. Referring to personal income, First Security predicts: "The outlook out-look for the second half of 1963 is generally good, with increases over last year's corresponding to those shown for the first six months." Total non-agricultural employ-ment employ-ment in Utah by mid-June was at 299,700, a new all-time high and some 7,300 above that reported re-ported in June a year ago. The Newsletter adds: "However, the seasonal increase from May was tht smallest in recent years." "Anticipated cash receipts from farming in Utah are slightly slight-ly higher than estimates reported earlier in the year," First Security Secur-ity reports. "This results from the improved outlook of prices for livestock, but even more so from the generally good water and range outlook resulting from the excellent storms extending extend-ing through June." Total construction in Utah is moving toward a record year, with the total dollar volume of construction in the state 15 ahead of 1962 totals for the first five months. Department store sales in Utah during the first I five month of 1963 were 5 I above last year's total. |
