Show ! LETTER To The Editor OPEN LETTER TO MAYOR OF PAROWAN This week I received a letter from your City Recorder informing inform-ing me that the City Council of rarowan had declared property which I own on the east side of Main Street between 2nd and 3rd North as a health hazard. The letter further advised me that "this condition must be remedied re-medied without delay." To say the least, I was surprised sur-prised to find that my particular property had been declared a health hazard to the residents of your city and I am at a loss to know why my particular piece of ground is different from many other lots In Pa rowan, including the Parowan City yard located on the northeast side of the city. When I purchased the property, an old building, once used as a blacksmith shop, was standing on the property. In an effort to help the appearance of the city, I contracted to have the building torn down. That was completed Just recently and some rubbish, including some lumber and tin remained. I'm wondering what makes these Items a particular "health hazard," to your citizens. Maybe your mayor, and city council are spending a little too much time scouring around for "health hazard," when some work could be spent in fixing up the city's own property and maybe doing wme work en the Parowan streets which are a disgrace dis-grace tor a community of your size. If you and your council are so concerned about "health hazards," ha-zards," as you term them, try opening your eyes to your own Parowan City. MORGAN SLACK |
