Show Dates Set for First Southern Utah Child Guidance Clinic A child guidance clinic will be conducted at the Iron County hospital Friday and Saturday, Sept. 17 and 18, provided for children in Beaver, Iron, Washington Wash-ington and Kane counties. This will be the first of a series of 12 monthly clinics on child guidance guid-ance to lie conducted here on an experimental basis. Arrangements for the series of experimental clinics here were made by the University of Utah medical college, the State Public Health Department, and the Utah and Iron County Mental Health Associations. Details have been worked out by the local advisory committee composed of Ianthus Wright, superintendent sup-erintendent of schools, chairman; Dr. J. S. Prestwich and Dr. Reed W. Farnsworth, medical profession; profes-sion; Mrs. Clair B. Jones, church groups; Ethel Smith, county welfare wel-fare department, and LaRue Ford, public health nurse. Children Chil-dren will be referred to the clinic by this group. The southern Utah clinic will be staffed by Dr. Leonard II. Taboroff, director of the Utah Child Guidance Center and associate as-sociate professor of psychiatry at the Utah Medical School, and Dr. William II. Brown, senior clinical psychologist, Utah Child Guidance Center and assistant research professor of psychology, university medical school. Prior to the opening of the clinic cli-nic state officials will meet with the locat committee and others interested to discuss details of the present clinic and the series that will follow throughout the year. |
