Show (By Doris Brown) S'X STUDENTS CIICtfEN TO TRY FOR PEPSI COLA SCHOLARSHIP AWARD Six outstanding senior students have been chosen by their classmates class-mates to compete for the scholarship scholar-ship award given by the Pepsi-Cola Company. This award Includes full tuition for four years of college; fees regularly charged all students-such students-such as laboratory fees, library fees, etc.; $25 per month to help defray the cost of board, room and books, and traveling expense for one round trip from home to college eachj year. Fve per cent of every high school senior class in the state may be selected to become candidates. This makes It possible for t'.ie Cedar high school to have six canrlldat.s. I The five studen's already chjsen to compete are Ahn Bauer. Doris ' Brown, EJward Scurhwick, Lovin-. na Matheson and Alice Slack. Rrg-1 Una Heaton and Kerry Jones tied 1 for sixth place. At the present time Alan is planning plan-ning a major In ci'.her English, American Problems, or Americrm History. His ambition Is to be a .chool teacher. Doris plans to major In ci'.her English or Journalism nnd minor in business. Her ambition Is a career n Journalism. Edward is interested in Civil Engineering En-gineering nnd his major will be based on this interest Lovinna wants to be a stenographer stenog-rapher so her major will be in business. bus-iness. Alice plans on majoring in mathematics math-ematics and mlnoring In hygiene. Her ambition Is to make a great deal of money. The six contestants are taking the test very seriously. The fact that Norma Leigh won one of the two scholarships given in Utah last year has greatly increased the enthusiasm enthus-iasm with which students regard the contest. The examination will be given to these six people February Feb-ruary 14. |
