Show Fran!: Milne Wins Jaycee Community Service Award Frank Milne, past president of the Cedar City Junior Chamber of Commerce and active clv!c worker in Cedar City for the past several years, was named as the outstanding outstand-ing young civic worker in the community com-munity and presented the Junior Chamber of Commerce Dist'ngulsh-ed Dist'ngulsh-ed Service Medal at the annual a-wards a-wards banquet held at the Escalante Escal-ante Hotel Wednesday evening. Although Mr. Milne's civic acuities acu-ities have been many and varied, his leadersh'p, enthusiasm and de-'.errr.ined de-'.errr.ined effort In the Jaycee fly control campaign of 1946 which un-'oubtedly un-'oubtedly has done more to improve Ivlng conditions in Cedar City than any other project of recent years, was the activity that brought the ecognltlon of outstanding accomp-lshmcnt accomp-lshmcnt to him. For a number of years this young nan has worked tirelessly to Improve Im-prove sanitary condit'ons In the ity, and particularly to combat the ly menace, which had reached serous ser-ous proportions In recent years, cadlng the campaign to spray all ly breeding places wIKi DDT dur-ng dur-ng the summer of 1948, Mr. Milne pent much effort In planning, se--ur'ng the assistance of various overnment groups, and worked for wurs in the actual spraying and physical cleaning up. The results f this campaign were amazing, and he efforts of Mr. Milne and his associates as-sociates in the campa'gn marked me of the greatest contributions o civic betterment Cedar City has :rsown in many years. In recognition of his interest tn this work Mr. Milne has been nam-;d nam-;d to the Board of Health of Cedar City In order that he mUht continue con-tinue his efforts in the field. The recipient of the award has not confined his efforts to this one field alone, but for a number of .ears has been ,. extremely active in - ill of the Junior Chamber of Commerce Com-merce civic undertakings.
