Show County Commission Re-organized - Two Ordinances Passed Charles R. Hunter was re-elected Chairman of the Board of Iron County Commissioners, at the meeting meet-ing of the Board in January held in Parowan. In addition to the nam-.rig nam-.rig of the Board Chairman, assignments assign-ments of the members to the various vari-ous activities were also made. Mr. Hunter was placed in charge of county roads, Hugh L. Adams in charge of agricultural activity, and Richard Leigh was made chairman of the county hospital board and county welfare. A new policy with regards to Coun'.y roads was adopted, in which the plan of appointing a County Road Supervisor was abandoned, end the responsibilities divided between be-tween two men. Milton Clark will be in charge of maintenance and Jack Pace of construction. Both are Cedar City men. Two new ordinances were adopted, adopt-ed, one changing the bonding of the county officers which merely changes the amounts for various offices, and has no other effect; and one controlling and 1 censing businesses outside the limits of incorporated in-corporated cities and towns. The license ordinance, which was 1 published in the last issue of the Parowan Times, sets the license for the operation of a dance hall or pavilion at $500 per year, and sets at $250 per day the license for the operation of ainclrcuses or. such exhibitions. Operation of a "Jitney" dance hall, or night club was set at $250. Other items are as follows: wrecking wreck-ing yards, packing plants, waie-houses, waie-houses, and liquid gas, $100; skat-ing skat-ing rink, auto court and garage or service station, $50.00; cafe, lodging lodg-ing house or hotel, and taxi-cab business, $25.00 |
